Parks COVID-19 Message
 

Status of St. Louis County Parks as of May 27, 8:00 a.m. is the following:

All St. Louis County parks and trails are open.

Most loop trails have been converted to “one-way” trails. All other trails remain two directional.

Park restrooms, indoor facilities, sports courts, shelters, campsites, exercise stations, playgrounds and the Creve Coeur Park Soccer Complex are closed.

All rentals (regardless of size) are canceled through at least Sunday, June 14.

Park Rangers are continuing their duties as normal.

General Information / History

In February 1974 the Alberici Company donated 93 acres of land to St. Louis County for park purposes. The park was originally named Meramec Bend County Park. In the fall of 1975, at the request of Alberici, the name of the park was changed to Edmund F. Unger Memorial County Park. The Park was opened to the public on March 31, 1979.

INVASIVE SPECIES ALERT: The lake(s) at this park are known to be infested with Asian Carp. These fish can top 50 pounds and can leap 10 feet into the air when startled by boaters, which can cause serious injuries to passengers in moving boats and tear up gear. On Tuesday, June 2, Lone Elk Park will open at 9 a.m.


George Winter Park is closed due to flooding.


Portions of the River Trail at Simpson Park are closed due to flooding.


Lower Meramec Trail is closed due to flooding.


The 5 mile loop at Cliff Cave is closed due to flooding. The 1 mile loop is still open.


The Sioux Passage boat ramp is closed indefinitely.
