Parks COVID-19 Message
 

Status of St. Louis County Parks as of April 3, 2020 at 8:00 p.m. is the following:

  • All parks, trails and facilities are closed thru at least Wednesday, April 22nd.
  • All programs, activities, events and rentals (regardless of size) are canceled thru at least Wednesday, April 22nd.
  • Any programs, activities, events and rentals that are gatherings of 50 or more people are canceled thru at least Sunday, May 10th.
  • Park Rangers are continuing their duties as normal.
  • Further closures and cancellations will be reevaluated by April 15th.

General Information / History
Originally referred to as the Adie Road park site, the site was purchased with 1977 Bond Issue funds and declared a County Park in 1978. On October 19, 1980 an ordinance was passed that officially changed the name to James S. McDonnell Memorial County Park in honor of the late founder of McDonnell Douglas Aircraft. 

A new playground was completed in 2003 using St. Louis County Metro Park funds.

Park Postings:

The southern half of George Winter Park, including the back ramp, is closed.


Lower Meramec Trail is closed due to flooding.


The 5 mile loop at Cliff Cave is closed due to flooding. The 1 mile loop is still open.


The entrance to Lone Elk Park is under construction. Access has been rerouted.


The Sioux Passage boat ramp is closed indefinitely.
