General Information / History
The County bought this site in 1958 and 1960 using funds from a bond issue and the sale of part of the Grandview County Park to the Missouri State Highway Department for the development of I-270 at Gravois Road. Several of the park facilities were the result of a community service effort.

This park was named in memory and honor of George E. Bohrer. Bohrer served as an Army corporal in World War II and in the American Military Government in Czechoslovakia after the war. He served as State Representative from the Sixth District from 1946 to 1952. He served as county councilman from 1956 until his death from a heart attack during a council meeting in November of 1960.
