On Monday, August 3, 2009, the St. Louis County Prosecuting Attorney's Office charged Andereya Tuzinkanimana, 22 years of age, of the 300 block of Sigsbee, St. Louis, Missouri with one count of Robbery in the 1st Degree and one count of Armed Criminal Action. Warrants were issued on the above charges and Tuzinkanimana is currently being held on a $100,000 bond. A photo of Tuzinkanimana is attached and can be viewed online. On Thursday, July 23, 2009, at 11:00 PM, St. Louis County Police responded to a robbery at an ATM located at 4566 Lemay Ferry Road. One armed male suspect approached a female withrawing money from her account and demanded $500. The suspect fled on foot with the cash and the victim's purse. Responding officers broadcast a description of the suspect but he was not found. Several night later, a South County Precinct Officer was on patrol and saw an individual that matched the suspect's description. The officer obtained information from the subject identifying him as Tuzinkanimana, and passed in on to detectives working the case. A photo line up revealed Tuzinkanimana was the sought subject. Tuzinkanimana was taken into custody on Monday, August 3, 2009. Chief of Police, Timothy Fitch stated "I commend the officers, detectives and crime scene technicians that worked diligently on this case. This is a fine example of street officers and the Bureau of Crimes Against Persons working together to remove a dangerous armed individual from our community." Media Relations Staff:
