The following list contains the Building Codes and Ordinances that are enforced by St. Louis County Government in the unincorporated areas of St. Louis County. Also, these same codes and ordinances are enforced in municipalities that contract with St. Louis County for Building Plan Review and Building Inspection Services.

 Land Disturbance Code, Ordinance #21578 approved October 13, 2003

 2003 International Building Code, International Residential Code, and International Existing Building

    Code as adopted and amended by Ordinance #22314 effective date Sept. 1,  2005.

 2003 International Mechanical Code as adopted by Ordinance #22313, effective date Sept. 1, 2005

 2005 National Electrical Code as adopted by Ordinance #22556, effective date March 1, 2006.

 2003 Uniform Plumbing Code as adopted by Ordinance #22338, effective date Sept. 1, 2005

 2000 BOCA International Property Maintenance Code as adopted and amended by Ordinance #20851

    approved April 9, 2002 and further amended by Ordinances 21373, 22015, and 22316

Also, the Department of Public Works sells the individual Building ($8.50), Mechanical ($4.00), Electrical ($4.00), Plumbing ($8.50) and Property Maintenance ($4.00) Ordinances at our Clayton location. Copies of the ordinances can be mailed to the requesting individual for an additional charge of $2.50 (postage). Make checks payable to: Treasurer - St. Louis County. Your request may be mailed to:
