Project Information:

Project Limits:

  • Generally from Dougherty Ferry Road to Barrett Office Drive.
  • Project located in the 3rd County Council District.

Recommended Improvements:

  • Widen roadway from 2 lanes to 3 lanes to provide for one (1) northbound and one (1) southbound lane and a two-way center left turn lane from Dougherty Ferry Road to Barrett Office Drive.
  • Improve Barrett Station Road vertical and horizontal alignment to conform to Saint Louis County current design standards.
  • Enclose drainage system
  • Install continuous five (5) foot wide sidewalk on both sides of road meeting ADA requirements.
  • Evaluate all existing culverts to conform to current County highway drainage design standards and evaluate Flood Plain impact.
  • Generally from Dougherty Ferry Road to Barrett Office Drive.
  • Original concept plan modified to reflect citizen input as follows:
    • On-street parking preserved along east side of Barrett Station Road from south of Dougherty Ridge Court northwardly to Huntercreek Road.
    • Provide for additional sidewalk along Dougherty Ferry Road, adjacent to the proposed auxiliary right turn lane within the northeast quadrant of the intersection with Barrett Station Road.
    • Auxiliary right turn lane along the west side of Barrett Station Road between Barrett Woods Drive and the Missouri Department of Transportation (MoDOT) entrance has been extended in response to citizen comments. This will address truck traffic servicing the MoDOT maintenance site, as well as lengthen the transition for southbound Barrett Station Road through traffic.
    • Issues such as providing a continuous sidewalk along both sides of Barrett Station Road, improved drainage and flood plain issues, improved turning radius on street and commercial entrances have been addressed on the Amended Concept Plan.
    • We understand that there will be other issues that will need to be addressed as we make progress on this project. We pledge to work openly with the community and individual property owners to resolve issues as they occur.
