Fleet Management
Highways & Traffic Department General Services Division - 6th floor 121 South Meramec Saint Louis MO 63105 (314) 615-1151 Fleet Management operates five (5) maintenance repair facilities for all County vehicles and equipment. In addition, this bureau is responsible for the development of vehicle/equipment specifications and subsequent award recommendation, vehicle/equipment in-processing and out-processing; vehicle assignments; vehicle utilization studies; supply and product contracts; development and implementation of County-wide Fleet policies. The bureau operates the Central Vehicle Pool to provide short-term transportation for employees without assigned vehicles. It also operates a consolidated, automated fuel management system permitting use of eleven (11) County fuel sites by all vehicles, as well as to any County municipality requesting Fleet fuel services. These fuel sites meet Missouri Department of Natural Resources 1998 Underground Storage Tank (UST) regulations and are insured by the Missouri Underground Insurance Fund. Fleet Management continues to operate County auctions as the preferred method of disposal for surplus vehicles and equipment. These public auctions generate additional revenues for St. Louis County. Fleet Management continues regular vehicle fleet inspections for Highways, Parks, and Health Departments to identify potential problems before they occur and provide vehicle condition evaluations to Departments. |
