The Courts Building is located one block north of the garage at 7900 Carondelet. To receive free parking, you will need to bring your parking garage ticket with you to the jury assembly room so that it can be validated. When you reach the Jury Assembly Room, have a seat as instructed and we will begin checking in jurors at approximately 8:15 a.m. We will validate the parking garage tickets during the check in process. Your parking garage ticket can only be validated once each day - if you remove your car from the garage at lunchtime, you will have to pay for afternoon parking. If you are running late, DO NOT PARK AT A METER. Park your car in one of the garages listed above. When you arrive on the 6th floor, check in with a member of the Jury Room staff. If you do choose to park at a meter, you will be unable to leave to move your car or feed the meter. If you have a disability and have a disability hang tag or plate from the Department of Revenue, please follow the instructions below:
In order to expedite your entrance into the courthouse, please be aware that you must pass through the security checkpoint at the street level. It is very similar to airport security checkpoints in that you will be required to place any hand carried items (i.e., purses, briefcases, packages, lunch boxes, etc.) on the black conveyor belt of an x-ray machine. All metal items in pockets such as keys, change, cigarette packs, foil wrapped items, wallets, etc., should be placed into a plastic container available at the checkpoint. Place the container on the x-ray machine then walk through the metal detector. NO WEAPONS OR SHARP ITEMS WILL BE ALLOWED IN THE COURTHOUSE, INCLUDING MACE, POCKETKNIVES OF ANY LENGTH, SCISSORS OF ANY KIND (INCLUDING CUTICLE SCISSORS, METAL NAIL FILES, SEWING SCISSORS, KNITTING NEEDLES, ETC.), ANY UNAUTHORIZED TOOLS, OR ANY OTHER ITEM THAT COULD BE USED AS A WEAPON. DO NOT BRING SUCH ITEMS AS THERE ARE NO STORAGE FACILITIES. When you have passed through security, take the escalator to the 1st floor and an elevator to the 6th floor. For detailed information concerning security requirements of the Courts Building, please see the Building Security page. You must pass through security every time you leave the secure area of the Courts Building and return. Food is available for purchase in the building. There are soda, coffee, and snack vending machines and a change machine on the 6th floor and lunch may be purchased at Rick's Underground Café located in the concourse on the P-2 level. You can also bring your lunch and/or snacks but refrigeration is not available in most locations. You may also bring reading material and audio devices with headphones. Your personal items must be kept with you at all times. During inclement weather, listen to KMOX Newstalk 1120 or watch channels 2, 4, or 5 for closings.
