Information for Firearms Safety Instructors
The St. Louis County Police Department is now accepting applications for concealed carry endorsements and State Law requires all Qualified Firearms Safety Instructors to complete a "Firearms Safety Instructor Form" for each St. Louis County Resident that has successfully completed and passed a firearms safety training course. This is a requirement of
RSMo 571.111.
Please note: Effective August 28, 2011 the age for obtaining a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit has has been lowered from 23 to 21.
Also effective on August 28, 2011, training must include the firing of 50 rounds of ammunition from a revolver
and 50 rounds of ammunition from a semi-automatic,
and an additional 20 supervised rounds must be fired from each weapon for a
total of 70 rounds from each. Any applications made after August 28, 2011
must comply with the new law.

You must be an approved instructor with credentials on file with our Department before we will issue a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit to any person trained by you.
