Information for Firearms Safety Instructors
The St. Louis County Police Department is now accepting applications for concealed carry endorsements and State Law requires all Qualified Firearms Safety Instructors to complete a "Firearms Safety Instructor Form" for each St. Louis County Resident that has successfully completed and passed a firearms safety training course. This is a requirement of RSMo 571.111
Effective August 28, 2011 the age for obtaining a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit has has been lowered from 23 to 21.
Also effective on August 28, 2011, training must include the firing of 50 rounds of ammunition from a revolver and
50 rounds of ammunition from a semi-automatic, and
an additional 20 supervised rounds must be fired from each weapon for a total of 70 rounds from each
. Any applications made after August 28, 2011 must
comply with the new law.

You must be an approved instructor with credentials on file with our Department before we will issue a Concealed Carry Weapons Permit to any person trained by you.
